WINTER DAISY PICKS...THE LAND OF NOD
One of my favourite shops for everything kids is the Land of Nod. As part of their 4th of July celebration, they are offering free shipping within the U.S. today which is great news for all of our American friends. Here are today's quick picks for all things
01.// Table lamp, pink; 02.// Twigs mirror, round; 03.// Flokati rug, round; 04.// Fish mobile, multi; 05.// Owl bin, crochet; 06.// Blanket, multi.
RELAX WITH THESE 6 WHITE DAYBEDS
Daybeds remind me of long summer days on the porch drenched in warm sunshine reading an amazing book. Sinking into one is like that first sip of coffee when you wake up in the morning. It’s comforting, makes you happy and you never want the feeling to end. Everything about that just sounds so lovely and relaxing, doesn't it? Now, toss in a few kids running around and although it may no longer be relaxing, daybeds still make me really really happy and invite any little one to grab a book and hop on. Anything that is both lovely AND functional resonates in a kids' space and daybeds are exactly that.
Given the number of options available, I am specifying daybeds for clients more and more often. For some reason, they don't get the attention they deserve as most people don't think of them as their first choice. The great thing about a daybed is you can put it in the middle of a wall and still have the comfort of having three sides on the bed, particularly great when a little one is transitioning from crib to bed (just flip it around for a couple of months to mimic a toddler rail!).
Once the bed isn't used in the children's room, you can simply move it anywhere else in your home! Today, I've rounded up my top picks of white daybeds; ones that would transition from kid room to playroom to living space without missing a beat. Tell me what you think...would you consider a daybed instead of a standard twin?
6 STATEMENT GOLD MIRRORS
After sharing this photo from Ella's room back in March, I got a lot of questions about the mirror. Gold statement mirrors are making an impact in children's spaces and I love them! Since the original mirror (above) in Ella's room is sadly no longer available, I thought I would share where to get a similar mirror that will give you a big statement look and feel that can be used now in your little one's room and later anywhere else in the house.
01.// Simple gold mirror; 02.// Starburst round mirror; 03.//Bauble gold mirror; 04.//Large elegant mirror; 05.//Starburst oval mirror; 06.//Round gold mirror.
CLOUDS FOR KIDS ROOMS!
Clouds never seem to go out of style in kids' spaces and I love a shape that stays fresh from the baby room stage through toddler to big kid room. Clouds infer dreaming and anything that could possibly help any baby or kid sleep more soundly sounds like perfect decor to me!
Dreaming of more sleep, I've rounded up six of the sweetest finds in cloud decor to add to any space. I love that the Lorena Canals pillow is washable...perfect for little ones with allergies or asthma.
1.// Cloud Rug, NuLOOM; 2.// Nightlight, Land of Nod; 3.// Cloud Shelf, Land of Nod; 4.// Bed Linen, Target; 5.// Wallpaper, Zara Home; 6.// Washable Pillow, Lorena Canals.
WINTER DAISY PICKS...CANOPIES FOR KIDS!
There is something so whimsical and fun about canopies in kids' rooms. As a child, I fondly remember finding a little space, curling up and daydreaming or reading books. There is something about a small space that is just, well, comforting.
After the baby stage, the toddler room doesn't always require a huge change and a simple way to add a fun and cozy nook is to use a canopy! I love how this Numero 74 canopy looks in Ella's room and love hearing even more about the special time spent reading books in here.
Do you love canopies as much as I do? Any amazing ones that I haven't included in the round up here?
1.// Silver Canopy, Land of Nod; 2.// Pink Canopy, Numero 74; 3.// Large Canopy, IKEA; 4.// Bed Canopy, Amazon; 5.// Dreamy Canopy, Restoration Hardware; 6.// Star Canopy, Wayfair.

HELLO!
WINTER DAISY was created when Melissa Barling was laying on the couch while pregnant with twins. She dreamed of a beautiful baby room but couldn't get up and make it happen. The babies were born and in those mid night wakes and early morning feeds, she decided to leave her corporate job to start a design studio + blog. Welcome to WINTER DAISY.
