BLUSH, SILVER + WHITE 7th BIRTHDAY PARTY
I can't believe our twin girls are 7!!! Over the past few years, I've shared Kaia and Noelle's birthday parties with all of you. Their 5th birthday with fairy crowns and a nature walk, their 6th birthday at a local art studio and this year, for their 7th birthday, they wanted something at home. So...with just a few friends and some pretty decorations (as well as an incredible magician!), we had a party that not only celebrated another year of having our joyful children in the world but also ticked the box as "the best birthday party we've ever had Mama!".
I've learned over the years to keep the decorations to one spot that is well lit. We opted to use our everyday console table and throw a white tablecloth on it. Using three cake stands (that we use for so many occassions), we filled the brown paper bags with popcorn and the cake took its' prized position in the centre. We added a few flowers in jars (I love eucalyptus and baby's breath) and picked up a few blush coloured roses to match the balloons.
While the girls waited at the window for their friends to arrive, I filled simple paper bags with party favours.
Once the kids arrived, we had a magician come to the house for a magic show, which was great fun and lots of laughs. The kids were even taught a trick of their own at the end. After all, parties are all about the fun, which this day was full of.
A big thank you to my sister Amanda from Amanda Haddow Photography for capturing these photos perfectly.

OH MONDAY!
1. Birthday parties (all three kids), Easter and a full schedule has meant that I haven't been here as often as usual. Well...hello, I'm back! If you're new around here, on Mondays I share 5 random things...inspirations, shopping finds, things we have seen or done over the weekend and anything else that I think you might like. The column is called Oh Monday because that's how I feel every Monday when I wake up. Ha.
2. Our sweet twins, Kaia and Noelle, celebrated their 7th birthday with a party this weekend and they had the BEST time. We hired a magician, which proved to be perfect for this age.
3. We made the drive to Fort Langley and area for a day trip to take the kids to see some countryside. It didn't disappoint!!!
4. I came across this beautiful art print on Instagram and thought you might love it too. Wouldn't it be perfect in a nursery?
5. Leaving you with a tiny peak into our newest little client's room, which was shot last week! I can't wait to share the full reveal soon.
Happy Monday friends!
EASTER GIFTS FOR KIDS
Is it too early to be thinking about Easter gifts for the kids???! I wasn't sure but as Noelle's favourite animal is a bunny, I keep my eye out all year round! Each year, we do a little Easter egg hunt (like everyone else) but we always have a little gift on the table in the morning for the kids from us too. It's usually something like a book or a stuffie, but I just love the little bunny jar so much (how cute would it be with a little plant in it?!!), we might have to splurge.
01. // Bunny rattle; 02. // Bunny backpack; 03. // Bunny decor; 04. // Bunny planter; 05. // Muslin blanket; 06. // Bunny or book; 07. // Bunny softie; 08. // Bunny stuffy; 09. // Bunny sheets; 10. // Bunny lamp.
Have a great weekend!
INSPIRATION: SHARED KIDS' ROOMS SIDE-BY-SIDE BEDS
Whether you are tight on space or just think a sharing a room is a childhood right of passage, these shared kids' rooms are functional AND gorgeous! A couple of weeks ago, we published a post about kids' rooms with bunk beds and today we're showing you side-by-side beds in shared rooms.
I just love how fresh and welcoming this boho room feels. My 6-year-old twins would love this and I think any teen would too! The white twin beds add so much dimension with the detail on their rails and notice how the cream patterned rug pulls it all together.

This small space where we designed Rafa and Leo's shared baby and toddler room shows you what can be done if you measure carefully and have a longer term vision in mind. As the crib is narrower than a full twin size kids bed, two twin beds would not allow much space between. The longer term vision is that once Leo is out of his crib and Rafa turns 6, they will be able to install a bunk bed that will go along the star feature wall and allow even more room for play!
This spacious shared girls room is ideal as each child has plenty of personal space and there is room to play together in the middle. I love the soft pink of the roman shades and those sweet dolls!

The natural light and that world map on the wall provide the perfect backdrop for a room to play and grow. How cute is that wooden chair as a nightstand?!
One of the coolest nurseries out there! That astronomy wallpaper is just amazing and love the modern cribs with the space mobile. As a twin Mama myself, I just hope they are able to capture the adorable conversations the babes have together on the side where the cribs join...it will be the cutest!

In case you wondered if this ever happens with kids in a shared room...yes, yes it does!!!

OH MONDAY!
1. We had EPIC snowfall here in Vancouver, Canada (10-15cms) and not only did our kids play in it for the whole weekend, but the playhouse covered in snow was just so sweet, I had to snap a photo of the kids and share. I've had a few people ask about where our playhouse came from lately; if you haven't seen it before, go read the full makeover of the wooden playhouse.
2. We spent the weekend at home and around the city. A trip to The Cross Design and Decor is always a highlight - perfectly dreamy textiles, the prettiest lighting and just an overall relaxing Sunday stroll vibe. If you haven't been, it's a definite must-stop for all design lovers who come to Vancouver and their kids section is to die for!

3. The kids got these super cute handmade puppets (made from reclaimed wool!) from Cate and Levi a couple of months ago and I have been looking for a puppet theatre ever since. Any amazing ones out there???
4. This week is all about shelf styling!!! Such a fun week. I am picking out finds for both the men's retail project and the playroom project that I am currently decorating (both are nearly finished!).
5. I have an entire board dedicated to wallpaper on Pinterest with lots of inspiration. Wallpaper makes everything pop just a little more. I found this gorgeous photo of a corner in a girls room that proves this point perfectly.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
HELLO!
WINTER DAISY was created when Melissa Barling was laying on the couch while pregnant with twins. She dreamed of a beautiful baby room but couldn't get up and make it happen. The babies were born and in those mid night wakes and early morning feeds, she decided to leave her corporate job to start a design studio + blog. Welcome to WINTER DAISY.
